It’s important to think about managing hazards when using lifts and hoists. Lifting operations are very common in the marine industry. They can be performed manually or by using lifting equipment. Both manual lifting and mechanical lifting operations can put seafarers at great risk of injury.
One of the most important rules is: To never walk under a suspended load.
