Nowadays, thanks to technology, it is easy for us to reach our homes, loved ones, friends and people who are important to us wherever we are in the world. We can easily hear from our loved ones and spend time with them. In this respect, technology provides us very good opportunities. What about what they take from us? While using technology and especially the Internet, one of its biggest tools, we don’t realize the time we spend in the virtual world. Many of us spend almost all their free time in this virtual world. Yes, of course it is very important and relaxing to talk to and hear from our loved ones, but our relationships on board are just as important. It doesn’t do us any good to ignore the people we work with for a certain period of time and need help and make friendships beyond that. Knowing we have colleagues around us who can help us, give advice and support helps us to deal with the problems more quickly. This stops us being distracted which could lead to a safety risk. In this module that we will work on their connections and relationships within the ship and how they affect them, as well as connections to home.
