There are many things we can do to improve our mental health, such as doing exercise to get physically fit.
The important thing is recognizing where we are and asking for help and support.
If we are having a bad day, we can easily go back to where we want to be mentally, through help from others. We can be better by ourselves as well, however the healing process would be longer, compared to being supported by our friends/colleagues.
