Learning Objectives

After completing this training, the learner will be familiar with the following topics:
• Define the core components of fraud and identify the three drivers of occupational fraud using the Fraud Triangle Theory. 
• Recognize and differentiate between common sector-specific schemes including bunkering fraud, scuttling, chartering fraud, and visa scams. 
• Detect and isolate critical financial, procedural, and behavioral "red flags" indicative of active fraud. 
• Implement standard operating procedures for Authorised Push Payment (APP) prevention through independent channel verification and segregation of duties. 
• Outline and execute the steps of a formal Fraud Response Plan to stop financial losses, preserve evidence legally, and remediate internal controls. 
• Differentiate between the three main categories of criminal fraud established under the UK Fraud Act 2006. 
• Identify and defend against digital and social engineering threats, including spear phishing, tailgating, and corporate manipulation.
