Course Content

After completing this training, the learner will be familiar with the following topics:
 Understand the critical importance of situational awareness for safe and effective maritime operations. Situational awareness refers to having a clear picture of everything happening around you, including the environment, your vessel's status, and other vessels or hazards.
 Explore the various factors that can negatively impact situational awareness, such as fatigue, distractions, complacency, and communication breakdowns.
 Recognize the role that situational awareness plays in preventing errors and accidents at sea. By maintaining a high level of situational awareness, crew members can make informed decisions and take timely action to avoid potential dangers.
 Learn strategies for enhancing situational awareness during the decision-making process.
